Leadership & Vision
Empathy Unlimited was founded by Anthony B. Parr, MS, a dedicated professional focusing on mental wellness with over 25 years of experience specializing in neurodivergent care and special education. His journey into this field began personally, caring for a disabled sibling—an experience that not only shaped his career path but continues to inspire his service on the STARC board.
Anthony has devoted seven years to providing specialized therapeutic support services to neurodivergent adults, developing innovative approaches that foster independence and personal growth. His expertise extends to adolescent behavioral health, where he has worked intensively with teenagers facing complex emotional challenges.
Anthony's academic credentials include a Master's degree in Behavioral Psychology, with a BCBA concentration, from Purdue Global and special education studies at the University of New Orleans. During his impressive two decade tenure with the Department of Education, he consistently achieved over 80% improvement in student outcomes through evidence-based strategies.
His notable accomplishments include establishing valuable support systems such as a lending library through the Louisiana Special School District and writing books that effectively bridge clinical concepts with practical application. This unique combination of clinical experience, educational expertise, and published work has established him as a respected voice in neurodivergent care and special education.
Our Therapeutic Approach
At Empathy Unlimited, we are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of every client. Our services integrate several powerful therapeutic models that support emotional growth, healing, and behavioral change:
Applied Behavior Analysis
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-based approach that helps people develop meaningful skills while reducing behaviors that interfere with learning and connection. Whether working on communication, daily routines, or emotional regulation, ABA meets folks where they are and supports their growth.
Why Families Choose ABA:
Individualized support: ABA therapy is tailored to each individual’s strengths, needs, and goals.
Real-life skills: From asking for help to brushing teeth or taking turns, ABA focuses on practical, socially significant behaviors.
Data-driven results: Progress is tracked closely, and strategies are adjusted to ensure meaningful outcomes.
Family involvement: ABA includes caregivers, offering tools that can be used at home to support lasting progress.
ABA isn’t about changing who a person is—it’s about helping them navigate the world with greater ease, joy, and connection.
Acceptance and Commitment Training
We utilize the ACT curriculum to help individuals build mindfulness, accept difficult emotions, and commit to meaningful actions aligned with their personal values. This approach empowers clients to increase psychological flexibility and resilience while living authentically. Through guided practices and supportive coaching, we help clients navigate life's challenges with greater presence and purpose.
Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Support
We recognize that trauma can deeply impact a person's sense of safety and self-worth. Our trauma-informed approach prioritizes emotional safety, trust, and empowerment throughout the therapeutic relationship. We work collaboratively with clients to understand how past experiences shape current behavior, fostering healing through compassion, stability, and consistent support.
Empathy Unlimited: Where evidence-based practice meets compassionate care.
